from Europe to America, their power and purity have been fading. Desperate to
renew her race, Queen Andais now pins her hopes on a contest between Meredith

SEDUCED BY MOONLIGHT
I am Meredith Gentry, P.I. and Princess
Merry, heir to the throne of Fairie. Now there are those among me who whisper I
am more. They fear me even as they protect me. And who can blame them? I've
awakened the dazzling magic that's slumbered in them for thousands of years. But
the thing is, I can't figure out why.
My aunt, the Queen of
Air and Darkness, is no longer distracted by her usual sadistic hobbies. Her
obsession has turned unwaveringly to me. The mission to get me pregnant and beat
my cousin Prince Cel to the crown is taking longer than expected. Even though I
spend each night with the Queen's Ravens, my immortal guards, no child has come
of our decadent pleasures. But something else is happening. My magic courses
through me uncontrollably. And as I lock my half-mortal body with their
full-Sidhe blooded ones, the power surges like never before.
It all began with the
chalice. I dreamed of it, and it appeared, cool and hard, beside me when I
awoke. My guards know the ancient relic well - its disappearance ages ago
stripped them of their vital powers. But it is here with us now. My touch
resonates with its force, and they're consumed with it, their Sidhe essences lit
up by it. But even as they cherish me for this unexpected gift, there are those
who loathe me for it. Me, a mongrel, only half fey and part mortal. The Unseelie
court has suffered for so long, and there are some who would not have it
weakened further by an impure queen. My enemies grow in number every day. But
they do not know what I am capable of. Nor, for that matter, do I. .

A
STROKE OF MIDNIGHT
If
someone offered you a throne would you accept?
What if it was for the wrong side?
Meredith NicEssus, Princess of
the Sidhe courts, should have had a dream life. What little girl doesn't dream
of being a princess? Unfortunately for Meredith, she not only has royal, but has
lesser Fey and human blood flowing through her veins. A combination that left
her as mortal as any human being and weaker than most Fey.
Born into culture with a class structure where such small things as blood lines
make a very big difference. A life at court, where politics and petty games of
arrogance, cruelty, sadism and the occasional assassination, were regular parts
of the daily regime and anyone different was fair game. To save her life,
knowing that the Court would view it as a betrayal, Meredith fled for the human
city of Los Angeles. Adopting the name Merry Gentry and accepting a job with the
Grey Detective Agency as a "magical consultant" she tried to keep her past a
secret.
Three years of evading Court searches comes to a crashing halt when Meredith
investigates a man using magic against humans. There is no way for Meredith to
avoid scrutiny or hold her cover. The Queen of Air and Darkness never forgets
and never forgives, even for family. Once discovered Merry must trust those she
has no reason too. Expecting to be killed, whether it be quick and merciful or
long and slow, Merry comes home. But the Queen wants Merry alive for her own
reasons. Just as surely as someone else wants her dead for those very same
reasons.
Merry's aunt, Andias the Queen of the Unseelie Court has set a contest between
her son and Merry. The first to bear an heir will inherit the throne.
As Merry beds the Ravens, guardians of the queen, in an attempt to get pregnant
before Cel inherits the throne, she and the guards must fight off numerous
attempts at assassination. All this and she still has her day job as a private
detective at Grey's Detective Agency. No one ever promised being a Fairie
Princess would be easy.

Chapter One:
I dreamt of warm flesh and
cookies. The sex I understood, but the cookes….- Why cookies? Why not cake, or
meat? But that's what my subconscious chose as I dreamt. We were eating in the
tiny kitchen of my Los Angeles apartment-an apartment I didn't live in anymore,
outside of dreams. The we were me, Princess Meredith - the only faerie royal
ever born on American soil -and my royal guards, over a dozen of them.
They moved around with skin the color of darkest night, whitest snow, the pale
of newborn leaves, the brown of leaves that have gone down to die on the forest
floor, a rainbow of men moving nude around the kitchen.
The real apartment kitchen would have
barely held three of us, but in the dream everyone walked through that narrow
space between sink and stove and cabinets as if there were all the room in the
world.
We were having cookies because we'd just had sex and it was hungry work, or
something like that. The men moved around me graceful and perfectly nude.
Several of the men were ones I'd never seen nude. They moved with skin the color
of summer sunshine, the tranparent white of crystals, colors I had no name for,
for the colors did not exist outside of faerie. It should have been a good
dream, but it wasn't. I knew something was wrong, that feeling of unease that
you get in dreams when you know that the happy sights are just a disguise, an
illusion to hide the ugliness to come.
The plate of cookies was so innocent, so ordinary, but it bothered inc. I tried
to pay attention to the men, touching their bodies, holding them, but each of
them in turn would pick up a cookie and take a bite, as if I weren't there.
Galen with his pale, pale green skin and greener eyes bit into a cookie, and
something squirted out the side. Something thick and dark. The dark liquid
dripped down the edge of his kissable mouth and fell onto the white countertop.
That single drop splattered and spread and was red, so red, so fresh. The
cookies were bleeding.
