When the film was originally released on October 14, 1994 in North America, it was banned in, and only in, the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. When asked in an interview about it Dan Aykroyd quipped; "I guess they just don't have sex in Saskatchewan." It was finally released a mere week after it's original release date (October 21, 1994) to Saskatchewan audiences.
This film was adapted from a book by Anne Rice and during the scene in New Orleans people are arguing over whether a man is 'Brad Pitt ' or 'Tom Cruise'. These two actors stared in a film adaptation of Anne Rice's "Interview With the Vampire (1994)" which mostly takes place in New Orleans.
